AFSP update: plus 5 years

After 5 years, the AFSP qualification can be extended for a further 5 years. The necessary steps are described below and the application form is available for download.

Description

An AFSP qualification obtained for the first time is valid for 5 years. To obtain an extension of the qualification for a further 5 years, the following steps are required:

1. You apply for renewal using the application form and send us proof of your activities in the field of functional safety in connection with the application of ISO 26262. This includes projects as well as further training measures, attending conferences and writing technical articles. It should be clear from this letter that you have been active in the field of functional safety in the last 5 years and have undergone continuous further training.
2. You can take part in the AFSP update examination at the earliest six months before the AFSP certificate expires or six months after the AFSP certificate expires.
3. Once your application, which is also your order for us, has been checked, you will receive an access code to take part in an online multiple choice test. You have 30 minutes to complete the test and can repeat it once within 24 hours if you fail the first time.
4. After successfully passing the test, you will receive a new AFSP certificate from us by post, which is valid for another 5 years.
   The certificate is extended for five years from the original validity date.
