SC-AFSP Update: plus 5 years

Extension of the SC-AFSP qualification for a further 5 years

An SC-AFSP qualification obtained for the first time is valid for 5 years. The following steps are required to obtain an extension of the qualification for a further 5 years:

• You apply for the extension using the application form and send us proof of your activities in the functional safety environment in connection with the application of ISO 26262. This includes projects, as well as further training measures, attending conferences and writing technical articles. It should be clear from this letter that you have worked more than 1500 hours in the field of functional safety in the last three years and have undergone continuous further training.
  You can take part in the SC-AFSP update examination at the earliest six months before the SC-AFSP certificate expires or six months after the SC-AFSP certificate expires.
• Once your application, which is also your order for us, has been checked, you will receive an access code to take part in an online multiple choice test. You have 30 minutes to complete the test and can repeat it once within 24 hours if you fail the first time.
• After successfully passing the test, you will receive a new SC-AFSP certificate from us by post, which is valid for another 5 years.

The certificate will be extended by 5 years from the original validity date.
