Cybersecurity has become an important part of plant safety in recent years. To take this into account, the Technical Rule for Operational Safety (TRBS) 1115-1 "Cybersecurity for safety-related measuring and control equipment" was published on the website of the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) in March 2023 and is now binding for operators after the transition period.
If the expert from the authorized inspection body (ZÜS) does not have proof that the topic of cyber threats was addressed in the risk assessment when inspecting the elevator system, he will note a corresponding deficiency in the inspection certificate.
